There was no such entity as Physical Education in Catholic girls’ school, so early on, Gayle learned ballet and tap dance. When her third child became ill during spring break, Gayle thought she would loose her mind, so she ran around the block and then began to take part in 5K and 10K races. She learned how to swim and even ventured out over her head. This enabled her to compete in marathon and triathlon events.

While running soothed her soul, it wreaked havoc on her heels and that’s when Gayle discovered the Sag Harbor Gym. She returned to dance and performed in the Southampton productions of the Nutcracker. Gayle especially loved step classes, that is, until she broke her ankle! The next progression turned to the spin room and there a passion was born. Certified by Schwinn and Nautilus, she taught interval classes.

Les Mills came into town and Gayle taught RPM classes as well. She became certified in BODYVIVE and presently teaches this program in Sag Harbor.

In another life, Gayle teaches mathematics at the East Hampton Middle School. She and her fiancée Kevin, are building a new home in North Haven with lots of bedrooms to welcome their combined families and nearly 8 grandkids.
